Lift Ticket FAQs

Will Vail Resorts require reservations to ski and ride in the 2021/22 season?
We designed the reservation system to help us safely manage on-mountain capacity during the pandemic. And while we do not know exactly how COVID-19 will impact our industry moving forward, we do not plan to have a reservation system for the 2021/22 season.

Can I purchase a lift ticket for the same day I want to ski or ride?
Yes, you can purchase same-day lift tickets online or at the resort ticket window. For the biggest savings, purchase your lift tickets online, 7+ days in advance of your visit.

How do I pick up my lift ticket?
If you purchased your lift ticket 9 or more days in advance, your lift ticket will be mailed to your address. If you don’t receive your lift ticket before your ski day, simply go to the resort ticket window to pick up your ticket.

If you purchased your lift ticket less than 9 days in advance of your first ski day, go to the resort ticket window to pick-up your ticket.

My lift ticket didn’t arrive before my ski date. How do I get my lift ticket?
If you don’t receive your lift ticket before your ski day, simply go to the resort ticket window to pick-up your ticket.

Where can I ski on my lift ticket?
Lift tickets are only valid at your specific resort.

When can I use my lift ticket?
You must use your lift ticket on the specific day you booked it for. If you wish to ski multiple days, please select and purchase lift tickets for the exact dates you wish to ski.

Is my lift ticket transferrable?
No, lift tickets are non-transferrable. Lift tickets are only available for the ticketed guest name and for the date range you purchased.

Is my lift ticket refundable?
If your plans change, your lift ticket is refundable (terms apply). Any unused days on your lift ticket are fully refundable until 5 PM MT on the last day of your ticket. For example, if you buy a ticket dated February 1st-5th, you have until 5pm MT on February 5th to request a refund for any unused days on your ticket.

Refund requests received after 5 PM MT on the last day of your ticket will not be honored, except in certain circumstances (see terms for full details)

How do I request a refund?

  • Visit the resort ticket window no later than the last day of your ticket
  • Contact customer service at (970)-754-0005 by no later than 5 PM MT on the last day of your ticket

What if Vail Resorts closes a resort or cancels my ticket due to Covid-19 - how will refunds be handled?
Your safety is our priority, and it is possible that we will have to cancel your ticket due to Covid-19.

In the event that we make the difficult decision to close a resort or cancel your ticket, we will strive to do so in advance of your visit, and we will issue you a full or partial refund depending on the number of lift ticket days affected. In the event of a resort closure or ticket cancellation, we will make an effort to notify you directly by email. We encourage you to also check the relevant resort website, Facebook page, or Instagram account for notifications. While we will do our best to issue your refund promptly, we cannot guarantee that your refund will be processed within a specified period of time (see terms for full details).

What if I am injured or fall sick – can I request a refund?
