Whether you hit the mountains every weekend or once a year, planning smart is the best way to maximize your trip.
Invest just a little time up front to dial in your logistics, and you guarantee a smooth, hassle-free visit.
But how, exactly, to do that?
Vail Resorts is unique in its broad offerings: six winter resorts in two states, myriad hotels, a range of transportation options, multiple daycares and ski school choices, and more. The choice can be confounding.
Fortunately Vail Resorts has centralized all of vacation planning. This is the one-stop site for nailing down your vacation.
Here’s how to navigate the planning process.
Whether you want a condo, hotel room, or something else, you’ll find what you're looking for at each resort.
Confused about the options? Don’t hesitate to call and speak with a customer service representative to answer your questions: 866-486-3420 (International: 001-970-496-4500).
Common questions include:
- Location: Is it ski-in/ski-out? If not, how far is it from the nearest lift? If it isn’t near a lift, is there a ski/snowboard concierge service so you won’t have to schlepp your equipment?
- Amenities: Is there a washer and dryer available? A refrigerator? Kitchen? You get the drift.
- Extras for the kiddos: Will the property provide a crib and high chair, and if so, will there be an additional cost?
- Property highlights: Is there a pool area that’s kid-friendly? Hot tubs? Most properties have gyms, and some have special play areas and game rooms for kids.
Some folks want to bring their entire quiver on vacation. Others just want to demo the newest and latest technology.
If that sounds like you, click here to arrange your rental.
Get great deals on lift tickets here. The site also features ski and stay packages. Simply click on the resort you want to visit and watch the specials emerge.
Whether it’s been years since you hit the slopes, or you’re signing junior up for his first round of ski school, or you’re an expert skier looking for a way to skip the lines, it’s worth it to book a lesson. Vail Resorts’ winter sports schools are world-renowned for their quality of instruction.

Childcare and nursery
From one parent to another: the childcare options at Vail Resorts are terrific.
I’ve dropped my son off at all of them in Colorado since his first winter in 2010, and have been consistently impressed with their attention to detail, cleanliness, communication, willingness to try and maintain your kid’s regular schedule, food options, and toys.
The daycares fill up fast—definitely book in advance. Click here for reservations.
Find flights and ground transportation here. Once you arrive, chances are you won’t need a vehicle at the resort. Consider booking ground transportation instead of driving a car.
