Popcorn and movies go together for good reason.
What’s better than cozying up on the couch for family movie night with a big bowl of buttered popcorn?
Here are some snow movies to get the entire family inspired to hit the slopes.
And to complete the evening, enjoy this recipe for a sweet and savory twist on popcorn with cinnamon and sugar. In one word: addictive.
Agent Cody Banks- is not entirely a “snowboarding movie” but it has an epic rocket powered snowboard scene so it makes my list for winter fun.
Plus it’s hard to resist the adventures of 15-year old Agent Banks who works for the CIA and finishes his chores and avoids getting grounded all in a days work.
Curious George Ski Monkey- is definitely one for the little kids.
When a blizzard covers the Man with the Yellow Hat’s country house with over a foot of snow, George can’t wait to get out and play.
He learns how much fun it is to ski, snowshoe, sled and, of course, get into a little trouble along the way.
The Art Skiing- is an original Goofy movie from Walt Disney.
It’s a short film (just shy of 8 minutes) that will keep the kids in stitches. Goofy demonstrates how to downhill ski while having a terrible time keeping his skis parallel and pointed down hill.
Kids will get a kick out of the skis as this movie was made in the 40’s and the skis are definitely of the era.
Better Off Dead- takes my back to my teenage years.
John Cusack plays a love struck teenager who gets dumped in favor of the captain of the high school ski team.
This dark comedy appropriate for older kids.
The climatic ending takes place on a treacherous ski run where Cusack finishes the race on one ski and is chased by the paper boy that seems to follow him everywhere.
Johnny Tsunami- is a teenage surfer living in Hawaii who’s dad’s job takes him and his family to the mountains of Vermont.
In Jonny’s new town there are two schools: one is private where everyone skis and the other is public where everyone snowboards.
Johnny, who goes to private school but wishes he didn’t, takes to the slopes and hopes his surfing skills will help him become a better snowboarder.
Cool Runnings- will get everyone psyched about winter.
Based on the true story of the first Jamaican bobsled team trying to make it to the winter Olympics.
Enjoy the popcorn recipe and movie picks. Hope they make your next family movie night!
