Vail is comprised of five main areas: Vail Village, Golden Peak, Lionshead, East Vail and West Vail. This detailed map shows all of Vail's lodging options and lifts accessing the village. Three other close towns are Minturn, Avon, and Edwards.
Easily identified by the covered bridge and clock-tower the village's quaint pedestrian streets are lined with shops, restaurants, bars and accommodations. The village offers quick and easy access to the mountain via the Vista Bahn and Riva Bahn chairlifts.
This area is literally the gateway from East Vail lodging to the Vail Village. The Ski and Snowboard School at Golden Peak is a well known landmark at the base of the Riva Bahn Chairlift. Conveniently located near the Gerald R. Ford Park and Ampitheater. Golden Peak is a minute's walk from shops, restaurants, bars and accommodations of Vail Village.
Connected to Vail Village by a free in-town shuttle service, LionsHead also offers quick and easy access to the mountain via the Born Free Express lift and the Eagle Bahn Gondola. LionsHead is home to many lodging options, as well as shops, restaurants and bars.
Located on either end of the village and LionsHead, East Vail and West Vail offer more affordable lodging options. While the location gives you the feeling of being somewhat off the beaten path of the hustle and bustle, you are just a short, free shuttle ride away from all the action.

Located further west of Vail (en route to Beaver Creek), these areas offer a wide variety of lodging, shopping and dining options. Minturn is a historic town rich in heritage and unique, smaller lodging properties with shuttle access to Vail and Beaver Creek. Avon offers easy access to both Vail and Beaver Creek.
