This FAQ describes only 2016-17 season pass access at Whistler Blackcomb and does not apply to future seasons.  2017-18 access will be announced in March 2017.

This past August, when we announced that we had entered an agreement to acquire Whistler Blackcomb, we said that Vail Resorts looks forward to integrating the mountain resort into its Epic Season Pass and other season pass products for the 2017-18 winter season. In celebration of closing on the acquisition of Whistler Blackcomb sooner than anticipated, we are excited to present 2016-17 Epic Pass and Epic Local Pass holders with five days of skiing and snowboarding at Whistler Blackcomb this season as a sneak preview of North America’s largest resort, a year prior to integrating it on the Epic Pass and other season pass products. Whistler Blackcomb season pass holders will also enjoy five additional days between any Vail Resorts’ U.S. resorts including Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Park City, Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood during the 2016-17 winter season.


Which passes get access?

Which Epic passes provide five days of skiing and boarding at Whistler Blackcomb?
For 2016-17 only, Epic Passes and Epic Local Passes will get an additional five days at Whistler Blackcomb. All passes are subject to holiday blackout dates. Tahoe Local, Summit Value, Keystone Arapahoe Basin passes, and all other Vail Resorts passes do not include Whistler Blackcomb access. 

In March we plan to announce 2017-18 season pass line-up that includes Whistler Blackcomb access.

Which Whistler Blackcomb passes receive five days between the U.S. resorts?
Winter 2016-17 Unlimited Season Passes, which includes Spirit and Sea to Sky Passes, get an additional five days at U.S. Resorts. All passes are subject to holiday blackout dates. Parent Pass, Student Pass, Graduate Pass, Midweek Pass, 15 day pass, EDGE cards, and Gold cards do not include U.S. Resort access.

Will the Mountain Collective Pass receive five days at the U.S. resorts?

The 2016-17 Mountain Collective season pass will be honored at Whistler Blackcomb during the entire 2016-17 ski season.  However, the Mountain Collective pass will not include the additional five days at Vail Resorts’ U.S. mountains.

Where can I purchase any of these passes?
Epic passes and other Vail Resorts season passes are available online at epicpass.com. Season Passes are on sale for a limited time only.

Whistler Blackcomb season passes were on sale at the early bird rate of CAD$1,499 through October 10th, we have extended the early bird offer through October 30th.  Whistler Blackcomb season passes are available online at whistlerblackcomb.com.


Epic Season Pass Holders

How do I redeem my five days at Whistler Blackcomb?
If you have an Epic Pass or Epic Local Pass and want to use any or all five days at Whistler Blackcomb, first verify your dates do not coincide with the blackout dates. Bring your season pass and ID to a Guest Services location at Whistler Blackcomb, at which point a new RFID card will be issued with the appropriate number of days on it.

Guests have the option of entering your Epic pass information at whistlerblackcomb.com before your visit.  You will still need to visit the season pass office and stand in line to have your photo taken, waiver signed, and RFID card printed. If you have difficulty signing up online, you can call 970-754-0060 to confirm your active season pass number. This is not a requirement to redeem your 5 days at Whistler Blackcomb.

When can I use my five days at Whistler?
The ski season at Whistler Blackcomb begins in late November and ends in mid-May.  Holiday restrictions apply to the five day access.

Do I have to ski five consecutive days?
No, you can use your five days any time outside of a blackout date.

Can I purchase discounted tickets in addition to these five or on blackout dates?
While there is not a specific discount for additional days the best way to purchase additional days is to buy advance lift tickets online at least 7 days before your first day of skiing.

Can I use my Buddy/SWAF tickets at Whistler Blackcomb?
Vail Resorts’ Buddy/SWAF tickets will be exclusively used at U.S. resorts and will not be honored at Whistler Blackcomb. 

Can I still upgrade to the Epic Pass or Epic Local Pass to receive the Whistler Blackcomb days?
If you are a Vail Resorts season pass holder, you can upgrade to an Epic Pass or Epic Local Pass while they are on sale. Please contact 970-754-0060 to upgrade.

Do any Epic Pass Club benefits extend to Whistler Blackcomb? Are there lodging discounts available?
Epic Pass Club benefits that come with your season pass will be offered at U.S. resorts only – they will not extend to Whistler Blackcomb. 

What currency is the Epic Pass sold in?
The Epic Pass is sold in U.S. dollars at epicpass.com.  The Epic Australia Pass is sold in Australian dollars at epicaustraliapass.com.au

Is the price increasing because of the addition of Whistler Blackcomb?
No, the Epic Pass or Epic Local Pass prices will not be increasing because of the addition of Whistler Blackcomb. Purchasing your pass early secures the best price and the best benefits. As the season gets closer, the price increases.  We encourage all guests to purchase their season pass early. 

Can I exchange my Vail Resort’s U.S. Resorts lift tickets for a season pass?
Yes, if you have already purchased lift tickets for the 2016-17 ski season and would instead like to purchase an Epic or Epic Local season pass, you can do so.  However, we are not able to exchange Vail Resorts U.S. resort’s lift ticket s for a Whistler Blackcomb pass or Whistler Blackcomb lift tickets for an Epic Pass. Please call 970-754-0060 before your visit if you wish to exchange.


Whistler Blackcomb Season Pass Holders

How do I redeem my five days at U.S. resorts?
If you have a Winter 2016-17 Unlimited Pass, Spirit Pass or Sea-to-Sky Pass and you want to use any or all five days at a U.S. resort, first verify your dates do not coincide with the blackout dates. What if I want to ski at Arapahoe Basin, can I redeem my five days at their season pass office?
No, to redeem your five days and ski Arapahoe Basin, please stop into the Keystone season pass office to sign your release and have your RFID card printed.

When can I use my five days in U.S. Resorts?
The ski season runs early November through mid-April in the U.S.  Holiday restrictions do apply to the five day access.

Do I have to ski five consecutive days?

Whistler Blackcomb passes will not receive access to Epic Pass’ European partner resorts.

Do I get access to Perisher, Australia on my Whistler Blackcomb season pass?
Whistler Blackcomb passes will not receive access to Perisher.

There are two options for guests who would like to ski at Whistler Blackcomb and Perisher

  1. 2016-17 Epic Pass – On sale now, pass holders will receive five holiday restricted days at Whistler Blackcomb and unlimited, unrestricted skiing at Perisher for the 2017 ski season as well as U.S. resorts in 2016-17 ski season.  Epic Pass holders also receive access to resorts in Austria, France, Italy, and Switzerland.  For full details on the Epic Pass please visit epicpass.com.
  2. 2017 Epic Australia Pass – On sale now, pass holders will receive unlimited, unrestricted access to Perisher during the 2017 ski season and 10 days with holiday restrictions at Whistler Blackcomb during the 2017-18 ski season. Guests who would like to upgrade to unlimited and unrestricted access to Whistler Blackcomb can do so during the check-out process.  For full details on the Epic Australia Pass plus upgrade, please visit EpicAustraliaPass.com.au.

Will the Mountain Collective continue to work at Whistler Blackcomb for the 2016-2017 ski season?
Yes, the 2016-17 Mountain Collective season passes will be honored during the entire 2016-17 ski season.

Can I use my Bring a Friend tickets at any of the U.S. Resorts?
Whistler Blackcomb Bring a Friend tickets can only be used at Whistler Blackcomb and will not be honored at U.S. resorts. 

Can I exchange my Whistler Blackcomb season pass for an Epic pass?
In August we announced that we are excited to integrate Whistler Blackcomb into the Epic Season Pass and other season pass products for the 2017-2018 winter season.  We would encourage guests to purchase the season pass that best fit their needs, however we will not be able to exchange the price that was paid to Whistler Blackcomb for an Epic Pass product for the 2016-17 winter season.

Can I exchange my Whistler Blackcomb lift tickets for a season pass?
Yes, if you have already purchased lift tickets for the 2016-17 ski season and would instead like to purchase a Whistler Blackcomb season pass, you can do so.  However, we are not able to exchange Vail Resorts U.S. resort’s lift tickets for a Whistler Blackcomb pass or Whistler Blackcomb lift tickets for an Epic Pass. Please call 1-800-766-0449 to exchange before your visit.

I paid 50% down on my Whistler Blackcomb season pass, must I pay in full before skiing in the U.S.?
To utilize your five days in the U.S., the Whistler Blackcomb pass must be paid in full. To pay the balance of your pass, please call 1-800-766-0449 before visiting the US resorts.

Do EDGE cards work at U.S. Resorts?
EDGE cards can only be utilized at Whistler Blackcomb and will not have access to U.S. Resorts.

Do Gold cards work at U.S. resorts?
Gold cards only work at Whistler Blackcomb and will not have access to U.S. resorts.

Can I use the gift card I purchased as a pass add-on at any of the U.S. resorts?
The gift card purchased from Whistler Blackcomb will only be valid at participating Whistler Blackcomb locations.

Do any of my pass perks carry over into the U.S. resorts?
Pass perks that came with your Whistler Blackcomb season pass will be offered in Whistler Blackcomb only and will not extend to U.S. resorts.  

What currency are the Whistler Blackcomb passes sold in?
The Whistler Blackcomb products are sold in Canadian dollars through whistlerblackcomb.com.

Will there be Employee or dependent access for the 2016-2017 season?
There will not be access at U.S. resorts for Whistler Blackcomb employees for 2016-17 winter season.

Can I upgrade my EDGE card, Gold Card, restricted Season Pass to a Whistler Blackcomb Unlimited Pass?

Yes, you can upgrade any Whistler Blackcomb Winter 2016-17 pass/card product to an unlimited pass by calling 1-800-766-0449.
