The FAQs below address specific questions regarding Vail Resorts’ plans for Stowe access to the Epic Season Pass lineup, subject to the acquisition closing. We anticipate announcing details for the Stowe-only Season Pass lineup after the acquisition officially closes later this spring. All information provided assumes the formal close of the Stowe acquisition and describes Vail Resorts’ post-closing plans.

2016/17 Stowe Season Pass Access:

  • All Stowe season passes, as well as Mountain Collective passes, provide skiing and riding to Stowe for the entire 2016/17 ski season.
  • Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, Epic 4-Day, Epic 7-Day and all other Vail Resorts passes will NOT include access to Stowe in the 2016/17 season.

2017/18 EPIC Season Pass Planned Access: Vail Resorts plans to offer the following pass options for the 2017/18 season, including Stowe, subject to the closing of the acquisition:

Epic Pass (Adult $859, Child $449)

  • Unlimited access to Vail, Beaver Creek, Whistler Blackcomb, Breckenridge, Park City, Keystone, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Stowe (subject to the closing of the acquisition), Wilmot, Afton Alps, Mt. Brighton and Arapahoe Basin; Also includes Perisher in Australia for the 2018 ski season.
  • No Blackout Dates.
  • Includes six days at Les 3 Vallees, Paradiski and Tignes-Val D’Isere in France, three days at Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta in Italy, five consecutive days at 4 Vallees in Switzerland and three consecutive days at Arlberg in Austria.
  • Pay $49 down in the Spring and receive 2017 summer access to Vail, Beaver Creek, Whistler Blackcomb, Breckenridge, Park City, Keystone, Heavenly, Northstar, and Kirkwood.
  • Purchase by April 9 to receive 6 Buddy Tickets (discount lift tickets).  See epicpass.com for details.

 Epic Local Pass (Adult $639, Teen $519, Child $339)

  • 10 combined days at Vail, Beaver Creek, Whistler Blackcomb and Stowe (subject to the closing of the acquisition), with holiday restrictions (restricted dates listed below).
  • Unlimited, unrestricted skiing or riding at Breckenridge, Keystone, Wilmot, Afton Alps, Mt. Brighton and Arapahoe Basin with limited restrictions at Park City, Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood.
  • Restriction dates: November 24-25, 2017; December 26-31, 2017; January 13, 2018; and February 17-18, 2018.

Epic 7-Day (Adult $639, Child $339)

  • A total of seven unrestricted days valid at Vail, Beaver Creek, Whistler Blackcomb, Breckenridge, Park City, Keystone, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Stowe (subject to the closing of the acquisition), and Arapahoe Basin, plus seven FREE days at Wilmot, Afton Alps or Mt. Brighton.

Epic 4-Day (Adult $419, Child $229)

  • A total of four unrestricted days valid at Vail, Beaver Creek, Whistler Blackcomb, Breckenridge, Park City, Keystone, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Stowe (subject to the closing of the acquisition), and Arapahoe Basin, plus four FREE days at Wilmot, Afton Alps or Mt. Brighton.

Is Stowe access contingent on the close of the acquisition?

Yes, Stowe access on Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, Epic 7-Day, and Epic 4-Day is contingent on the purchase of Stowe mountain ski operations and base mountain area closing.

When will the purchase of Stowe ski operations, and the base mountain area be complete?

We expect to close on the acquisition, pending Vermont administrative review, in spring 2017, following the completion of the 2016/17 season.

Will there be a 2017/18 season pass that only gives access to Stowe?

We anticipate offering limited Stowe-only season pass options, and will announce pricing and access details after the close of the acquisition.

2016/17 Stowe Season Pass Details:

Will any of Stowe’s existing season passes be changing for 2016/17?

No, there are no changes to the current 2016/17 Stowe season pass line-up. 

Will any of Stowe’s existing season passes include access to Vail Resorts’ ski resorts such as Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Park City? 

No, there are no changes to the current 2016/17 Stowe season pass line-up.

Where can I purchase Stowe season passes?

The Stowe 7+ Adult and Family Passes and other products for the 2016/17 season are for sale at Stowe.com.

How long will Stowe passes be on sale?

2017/18 Stowe Season Pass Details:

Will there be a 2017/18 season pass that only gives access to Stowe?

We anticipate offering limited Stowe-only season pass options, and will announce pricing and access details after the close of the acquisition.

If I buy an Epic Pass now, and then decide to purchase a Stowe-only product once they are announced, can I exchange my pass?

No. All Epic Passes are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

If I buy an Epic Pass now, and the acquisition does not close, can I receive a refund on my pass?

All Season Pass purchases are non-refundable, including any purchases prior to the Stowe acquisition closing.

Will there still be free skiing for kids 5 and under?

Yes, kids 5 and under will continue to receive free lift access when accompanied by an adult.

Will the 2017/18 Stowe season pass include discounts on rentals, ski school and lodging?

Full details of pass holder discounts and benefits will be announced after the official close of the acquisition.

Mountain Collective Details:

I own a Mountain Collective Pass, will Stowe honor that pass for the 2016/17 ski season?

Yes, we understand that Stowe intends to honor the 2016/17 Mountain Collective season passes during the entire 2016/17 ski season.

I own a season pass for a Mountain Collective resort (e.g. Mammoth) that qualifies for 50% off lift tickets at Stowe. Will this benefit be honored in 2016/17?

Will Stowe be on the 2017/18 Mountain Collective Pass?

No, Stowe will no longer be included on the Mountain Collective Pass.

2017/18 Epic Pass and other Vail Resorts Pass Details:

Which Vail Resorts season passes will give me access to Stowe for the 2017/18 season?

The Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, Epic 4-Day and Epic 7-Day passes will all provide access to Stowe (see above for full product descriptions), subject to the close of the acquisition.

Where can I purchase an Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, Epic 7-Day or Epic 4-Day Pass?

Please visit epicpass.com to purchase a season pass. Receive the guaranteed lowest price and 6 Buddy Tickets when you buy before April 9th.

What dates do “holiday restrictions” on the Epic Local Pass include?

Epic Local holiday restricted dates are: November 24-25, 2017; December 26-31, 2017;
January 13, 2018; and February 17-18, 2018.

Can I purchase tickets for these “holiday restriction” days at a discount as an Epic Local pass holder?

Yes. Epic Local pass holders receive 50% off lift tickets during the holiday restricted dates.

How does the Pass insurance work for the Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass and other products sold on EpicPass.com?

Epic Passes are non-transferrable and non-refundable. Pass refunds are available only when a guest purchased Pass insurance and has a valid claim under the insurance policy. Any refund is based on the cost of the Pass minus a daily rate for every day used up to the face value of the Season Pass. For more information please visit snow.com/passinsurance.

How does the Auto Renew program work?

Auto Renew is the most convenient way to automatically renew your Season Pass every year, while guaranteeing next season’s lowest price and the best benefits. When you sign-up for Auto Renew you will be charged $49 up front in mid-March and the balance in mid-September. If you sign up for the auto-renew program this season, your Pass will automatically renew next March for the 2018/19 season unless you withdraw from the program before the initial charge. What are Buddy Tickets?

Buddy Tickets are discounted, single day lift tickets set at flat rate. Not all Passes are loaded with Buddy Tickets. If you purchase your Epic Pass by April 09, 2017 you will receive six Buddy Tickets.

What are Ski-With-A-Friend tickets and how many do I receive?

As a valued Pass holder, most Season Passes will come with six discounted, single day lift tickets loaded onto your Pass for friends and family. Ski-With-A-Friend Tickets vary in price based on the date you plan to visit and can be purchased at the ticket window. The Season Pass holder must be present at the time of purchase.

Does the Epic Pass have access to resorts in Europe?

Yes, the Epic Pass includes six days at Les 3 Vallees, Paradiski and Tignes-Val D’Isere in France, three days at Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta in Italy, five consecutive days at 4 Vallees in Switzerland and three consecutive days at Arlberg in Austria. What are the payment plan options?

For a limited time, guests can pay $49 for the Unlimited Pass up front in the spring with the remaining balance charged on or around September 15, 2017. By putting $49 down, Pass holders are committing to buying the Pass(es) for the 2017/18 season. The $49 initial payment cannot be cancelled or refunded, nor can the remaining balance be cancelled or refunded.

Will Stowe be on the Epic Pass or other Vail Resorts’ season passes for the 2016/17 season?

No.  2016/17 Epic season passes do not have access to Stowe.

I own an Epic Pass.  Can I use my benefit tickets at Stowe?

Epic Pass and other Vail Resorts’ season pass holder benefit tickets are not able to be redeemed at Stowe for the 2016/17 ski season. Vail Resorts’ season pass holders can redeem benefit tickets at Stowe beginning in the 2017/18 season, subject to the acquisition closing.  Rates for Buddy Tickets at Stowe will be released after the close of the acquisition.

If I plan to ski Stowe on my Epic Pass can I go straight to the lift?

No, subject to the close of the acquisition, Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, Epic 7-Day and Epic 4-Day pass holders will need to visit a Stowe ticket office before going to the lift as the Stowe scanning equipment will not recognize a Vail Resorts season pass product. Exact details on requirements and process will be released before Stowe opening day in the Fall of 2017.

Will the Epic Pass have benefits at Stowe?

Yes, Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, Epic 7-Day and Epic 4-Day pass holders will have pass holder discounts at Stowe, subject to the close of the acquisition. Details will be released before opening day in the Fall of 2017.

Changing or Upgrading Products

If I buy an Epic Pass now, and then decide to purchase a Stowe-only product once they are announced, can I exchange my pass?

No. All Epic Passes are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
