Q: WHAT IS SCHOOL OF SHRED?
It is a FREE program for Colorado 5th & 6th graders that provides skiing/riding at each of the state’s top-ranked resorts; Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin.  It also includes a FREE first-timer lesson & rental.

 

Q: WHAT'S THE POINT?
Skiing should be a rite of passage for every child lucky enough to be raised in Colorado, and this program will help make that happen. The program also helps young people stay physically active during winter months.

 

Q: HOW OFTEN CAN 5TH AND 6TH GRADE SCHOOL OF SHRED PASS HOLDERS USE THEIR PASS?
The School of Shred pass provides 4 days of skiing or snowboarding at each of the state’s top-ranked resorts; Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin.

 

Q: WHAT IF MY 5TH OR 6TH GRADER DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO SKI OR SNOWBOARD? WHAT ABOUT EQUIPMENT?
No problem, the program offers a FREE first-timer lesson and rental and you do not need to make advanced reservations*. Simply bring your School of Shred pass to the ski and snowboard school of your choice when you’re ready to redeem your free lesson. For more information please call:

First-timer lessons and rentals will be provided from 12/02/13 – 12/15/13, as well as 01/05/14 - 01/31/14 as a part of “Learn to Ski and Snowboard MonthThe free rental and first-timer lesson must be redeemed at the same time and are only valid for a one time use.  Free first-timer lessons and rentals are not available at Arapahoe Basin.

In addition, two lucky SOS passholders will win a free junior trade in rental package for the entire 13/14 season!!!

 

 *Groups of 10 or more are required to provide advanced notice to ski school offices.

 

Q: WHICH RESORTS ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE SCHOOL OF SHRED PROGRAM?
The state’s top-ranked resorts participating are Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin.

  

Q: ARE THERE ANY BLACKOUT DATES/RESTRICTIONS?
Not for the lift access. The lesson is only available from 12/02/13 – 12/15/13, as well as 01/05/14 - 01/31/14 as a part of “Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month” though.
