Bungy Trampoline & Ropes Course

The year-round Apex Bungy Trampoline creates a safe, fun and challenging atmosphere that allows kids and grown-ups to let go of limitations. Fly high into the sky and land your first flip. The thrilling summer-time APEX Ropes Course is an eight low element mini ropes challenge course strategically constructed to test your inner adventurous spirit and tease your balance abilities. Cross-Country Skiing

Looking to try something different? You can track or skate ski on nearly 40 kilometers of carefully groomed, scenic trails with warming huts, complete with tea and hot chocolate, and picnic tables along the way.

Fly Fishing

Sawmill Lake is a secluded 10-acre reservoir stocked with hundreds of bright, fighting rainbow trout. Reserved for catch-and-release fly-fishing only, this is a perfect lake for float tubing or shoreline stalking.

Geocaching

Kids and adults of all ages can test their terrain and intellectual prowess by searching for caches located at the Northstar Cross Country, Telemark & Snowshoe Center in the winter and the Mountain Biking & Hiking Park in the summer.

Golfing

At the foot of our mountain is our renowned, par-72 Robert Muir Graves–designed golf course. The mountain nine is built for precision play, and the meadow nine challenges you to bring your power game. Of course, our pro shop and PGA-certified pros are always ready to help you gear up and tune up.

Hiking + Sightseeing

For the not-so-hardcore summer enthusiasts, chair lifts lead to trailheads where miles of dirt tracks and loops await hikers and sightseers. Pack a lunch and slather on the sunscreen before embarking on your mountain adventure amidst pristine forests to breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada.

Horseback Riding

Northstar Stables are the only stables in the Reno/Tahoe area offering only private horseback rides for beginners, families and nature enthusiasts. Embark upon a private horseback ride on serene trails located in gentle hills thick with pine forest, offering views of the High Sierra peaks.

Movies

The Village Cinemas movie theaters offer current Hollywood hits in comfortable seating and a full-service concession stand. The theater is complete with two movie screens, with one containing 96 elevated stadium seats, and the second containing 45 elevated stadium seats. Located on Copper Lane near the entrance to the Village at Northstar across from TC’s Pub.

Mountain Biking

If you think two skis will get you down the mountain in a hurry, try two fat, knobby tires. In the summer, Northstar has everything you need for summer mountain and road biking adventures. From beginner to advanced cross country and downhill mountain biking trails, lift-access, bike rentals and bike shop services, you can find it here at Northern California’s largest mountain bike park featuring over 100 miles of trails.

Skating + S'mores

Located in the heart of the Village at Northstar, our 9,000 square foot skating rink is the perfect ending to your day on the mountain. Enjoy a hot toddy or mulled cider by the outdoor fire pits surrounding the rink or take a few laps to live music. Or, enjoy the night sky while roasting your own s’mores.

Snowshoeing

Tromping through snow amidst pristine forests with family and friends is a favorite among our non-skiing winter enthusiasts. Access more than 25 miles of snowshoe trails from Northstar Cross-country, Telemark & Snowshoe Center at mid-mountain.

Star Gazing Tours

Experience the starry sky above Northstar with star guide and poet Tony Berendsen, the President of the Nevada Science Coalition. Each unique and educational night under the stars is as different as the starry skies above, but each includes a poem reading, a fun space quiz with prizes, a laser tour of the stars and constellations and a telescopic viewing.

Telemark Skiing

Northstar is a popular destination for downhill skiers who like to “free their heels”.

Tennis

Nestled in the heart of the mountains, Northstar offers a world-class tennis facility for our lodging guests and homeowners. Guests are welcome to brush up on their skills, take classes and clinics, compete in tournaments or just play for fun.

Tubing

Tubing is a great activity for everyone - skiers, snowboarders, kids, teenagers and adults alike enjoy the exhilarating ride. Tubes and riders are transported by tow lift to the top of the hill and tubers can slide down one at a time or in daisy chains.

Village Crafts

We offer a variety of craft stores that provide social activities, entertainment and creative learning experiences for kids and grown-ups! Spend an afternoon creating a necklace at Farrah Ralé Bead Design Studio, your own candle or stuffed bear at the Villager Candle Shop, or paint a pottery masterpiece at the All Fired Up! studio.
