Breakfast

Drive up Kingsbury Grade to the Red Hut Cafe, a local’s favorite. Historic Tahoe photos and casino memorabilia make this quaint café a must-see; not to mention the food is dynamite. Seats at the 50’s-style bar are usually available. Enjoy a cup of fresh-squeezed juice and order “The Usual.”

Morning Activity

Continue driving up Kingsbury Grade to Heavenly’s Stagecoach Lodge. Spend the morning slaloming through endless powder tree runs in Scorpion Woods off Stagecoach Express and Bohemian Grove off of the new Olympic Express.

Lunch

Don’t miss a beat as you head over to East Peak Lodge to enjoy a variety of fares. Beautiful views of East Peak Lake welcome you from the sun-filled deck, or dine on the new enclosed deck. The outdoor BBQ serves hormone-free Coleman beef burgers and chicken. A Heavenly ski trip isn’t complete without trying the bar’s legendary Bloody Mary’s.

Afternoon Activity

Spend the afternoon tearing up the powder in Mott and Killebrew Canyons. The steep terrain and hair-raising cliffs will get your heart pumping and aching for more. If you dare, head out the Fulstone Canyon backcountry gate to get in 5,000 vertical feet before dinner! Après at Fire & Ice located at the base of the Heavenly Gondola. Sit by one of the outdoor fire pits, sip a Chip Shot and order the delicious S’mores.

Dinner

Dine at Café Fiore on Ski Run Blvd., rumored to be one of the best Italian restaurants in the Tahoe basin. With only eight tables, it’s known for being very intimate and exclusive. Reservations recommended by calling (530) 541-2908.

Evening Activity

Get wild with live music at Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Cantina located in Harveys Casino. Take part in an exclusive Cabo activity: the on-the-bar body shot given by one of the hot bartenders.

Breakfast

Dine California style at the legendary Driftwood Café in the Heavenly Village. The California Eggs Benedict are phenomenal with avocado and spinach. To get ready for a day on the mountain, try the Healthy Oatmeal.

Morning Activity

Take a rejuvenating post-breakfast walk to the Heavenly Gondola and get off at the first stop, the Mid-Station Deck. Take in sweeping views of Lake Tahoe, the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Carson Valley at 8,100 feet. Stay a while and enjoy a Peppermint Patty from Café Blue while you gaze at the pristine blue water and majestic Mt. Tallac.

Lunch

A Heavenly ski trip isn’t complete without an afternoon of sunning at Snow Beach. One of the hottest spots on the mountain, Snow Beach offers BBQ fare and beverages to keep you cool as you recline in one of the classic Adirondack chairs soaking up the California sun.

Afternoon Activity

Spend the afternoon touring the Tahoe Rim trail on snowmobiles from Zephyr Cove Snowmobiling. Choose to ride single or double on tours lasting from one to three hours. Seeing the lake from this height makes you feel on top of the world and the tour guide serves you hot cocoa on the trail. After the tour, treat yourself to California-style sushi at Tahoe’s most popular sushi spot, the Naked Fish. This is a great spot to enjoy the freshest nigiri and sashimi accompanied by a wide selection of sake and beer; don’t forget the Sake Bomb. Try the Heavenly Roll or the Tahoe Crunch to get a taste of what the locals love.

Dinner

Get cleaned up and ride the Harveys elevator to the top of the world where you'll find Nineteen Kitchen-Bar. Before dinner enjoy a Dirty Martini while you catch your breath. The view from the nineteenth-floor windows is one of the world’s best. Dine on the lake’s most eclectic California menu with choices including seared Ahi, filet mignon and cotton candy for dessert.

Evening Activity

The night is still young and poker awaits. Head to the posh MontBleu poker room and win a tournament or two. Situated among metro-cool décor, an abundance of flat screen TV’s and the circular HQ bar, this is definitely one of the evening’s hottest spots.

Breakfast

Located right across from the Heavenly Gondola, Wolfgang Puck Express offers scrumptious breakfasts and light morning snacks. The fresh-baked muffins and scones are quick, light and always a sure bet.

Morning Activity

Take the Gondola up to the top stop and head over to California. Catch a quick ride on Sky Express and exit left onto Skyline Trail. Just off this trail you will find the Ski Ways Glades. With two new runs and unlimited amounts of fun, this is the best place to carve up the morning in Heavenly.

Lunch

For lunch head over to the Lakeview Lodge where you will find the Gunbarrel Grill. Ask to be seated on the deck and enjoy unobstructed views of Lake Tahoe as you sip a Mimosa. The Halibut fish tacos and Lobster Quesadilla are two of the best entrees you’ll find on the mountain.

Afternoon Activity

Snuggle up under a wool blanket as you enjoy the white champagne snow on a romantic sleigh ride along the Pony Express Trail. Borges Sleigh Rides offers a beautiful half-hour trip through the woods complete with hot cocoa and romance.

Dinner

Take an unforgettable stroll along the Lake Tahoe waterfront and enjoy the picturesque sunset on the beach in front of Edgewood. A truly unique winter experience, enjoy the beauty and serene silence as you watch the sun dip behind the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Head into the Edgewood Restaurant for an amazing dining experience and be sure to save room for the dessert sampler.

Evening Activity

Play some early evening pool at Bar 24 in Bill’s Casino, the only non-smoking casino on the strip. Then cruise over to Harrah’s to have a drink at the circular Cal Bar and partake in the dancing fun with Arty “the one man party.”

Breakfast

Watch the morning sunrise from the deck at the newly opened Peet’s Coffee in the Heavenly Village. Warm your hands around an organic double-soy mocha while you enjoy a chocolate-filled croissant and bask in the morning sun.

Morning Activity

The Heavenly Village Ice Rink located next to Peet’s Coffee, offers great mid-morning entertainment. Whether joined by your family or holding on to your significant other, ice skating is a wonderful experience when paired with the California sunshine.

Lunch

For lunch head to the Ski Run Marina for tasty California cuisine and stunning views at the Riva Grill on the Lake. Enjoy the infamous Wet Woody, a sweet blended treat of rum and fruit juices, with the Coconut Prawn appetizer. For lunch, the brick-oven pizzas are hot and crispy and the Sirloin Salad is wonderful.

Afternoon Activity

Ride the Heavenly Gondola to the world’s most scenic adventure ride, the Heavenly Flyer, a 3,300 foot long elevated zip line that zooms you above treetops at speeds up to 50 mph. Enjoy jaw-dropping views of Lake Tahoe and the Carson Valley, if you have your eyes open! Make sure to stop by the Umbrella Bar for a refreshing post-Flyer beverage. Our favorite: the Vodka Lemonade.

Dinner

Put on your dancing shoes and board the Tahoe Queen at the Ski Run Marina for the Captain’s Dinner Dance. You'll be awestruck by the breathtaking Tahoe sunset from aboard Lake Tahoe’s largest sternwheeler boat as you cruise along the sublime water. The cruise takes you to Emerald Bay, the jewel of the Sierras, one of the most photographed bays in the world. Relax as you dine on the water. Then get ready to grab your honey and hit the dance floor to the live band on the second deck. Truly a unique experience during the wintertime, the boat cruise is a must-do.

Evening Activity

Looking for a nightclub at 6,300 feet? Tahoe’s South Shore has two: VEX at Harrah’s and BLU at MontBleu. Both clubs offer all-night dancing and private VIP booths that feature bottle service. VEX, the larger of the two, prides itself on its pumping sound system, scantily clad dancers on catwalks and topless midnight show. BLU has two separate dance floors and pillow-endowed canopy beds that make for an intimate mingling experience. Both clubs are hopping on winter evenings, but don’t get there prior to 11:00 p.m. or you’ll be too early! When you’ve had enough of the party scene, cab over to Lakeside Inn and Casino and hit up the local’s spot for late night gambling and the best $2.99 breakfast in town.
