The Edwin Carter Museum honors Edwin Carter, a Gold Rush miner turned naturalist at heart. Carter practiced taxidermy and used his collection to educate people about the negative effects mining had on the environment. 111 N. Ridge St., one block off Main Street. Open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. daily. Admission is free.
Take your sled, your mittens and your friends to Carter Park, home to one of the only sledding locations in town. Carter Park is located at the south end of High Street and adjacent to Breckenridge Elementary School. (Sledding at the Breckenridge ski resort is not permitted)
