Cross-Country Skiing Center

Our Cross Country Skiing Center has 80km of groomed trails at 7,800 feet offer the most spectacular scenery and exciting terrain in the west. Located 1/4 mile east of Kirkwood on Hwy 88 (next to the Kirkwood Inn) and nestled in a beautiful Alpine Valley, our diverse terrain offers excellent skiing for all abilities. Bring your four legged friend along too - dogs are allowed on two trails, the High Trail located behind the Kirkwood Inn and the Outer Loop on the meadow.

Expedition: Kirkwood

Expedition: Kirkwood is for the avid adventurer looking to explore Kirkwood’s deep snow and varied terrain on a more intimate level. We offer more than 20 programs that include two separate cat skiing venues, skills clinics, mountain guides, specialized avalanche education, women's all-mountain programs, children’s E:K development and backcountry gear.

Saturday Evening Snow Cat Tour

This 2.5 hour snow cat tour will take you to the top of Kirkwood to enjoy breathtaking views of the valley at sunset. Tours meet in the Main Plaza as the chair lifts stop turning at 4:00pm before departing to Red Cliffs or the top of Chair 2. Upon your return, take advantage of preferred seating at the Wall Bar and enjoy dinner, drinks or just dessert.

Zip Tahoe

Located at the top of Chair 7, Zip Tahoe's course offers multiple zip lines and sky bridges and is open seven days a week, all year round! Enjoy breathtaking views of the Sierra Mountains from every platform including: Red Cliff's, Thimble Peak, Glove Rock, Martin Point, and many more. Sail through the air upwards of 75 feet off the ground. Adding to the adventure, guests are transported to the zipline course by passenger ATVs in the summer and by chair lift during the winter months.
